Re:Memorize Monthly Dev-Log (June 2025)

Hello! Selene here, Project Lead of Re:Memorize.
So, I was planning to post a dev-log at the end of this month once I finished the current CG I'm working on, but since I received a request to post an update, I thought I would post it a bit earlier.
I would also like to preface that: This dev-log will be available for backers and fans alike.
TL;DR is at the bottom.

Chapter 9.1 Updates |

For some clarity, and those unaware, since April, I've been working on character sprites and props with the limited time I had to draw. Due to work and limited days off, there wasn't much to share at the time, but I felt like I had to post something regardless.
In May, I had about two weeks to draft all the CGs for Chapter 9.1. During that time, I also took some time to rest while revising Chapter 9.2. This was so I wouldn't burn out too quickly. The latter half of May was back to the work grind.
The latest update posted on June 11th was the progress I made, posted here on Kickstarter and Itch.io.

Since then, during June and July, I've gotten very little done. I'll be honest — these past two months were pretty brutal. I was already working an average of five shifts, but over the past few weeks, I was pulling doubles, averaging six days a week (i.e. 7am–12am / 2pm–9pm), and I don’t get home until 10pm, maybe 11pm at night. I barely had any energy to draw.
When I did have a day off, I was preoccupied with chores, groceries, and the gym. I could only draw for about 4–5 hours before needing to head to bed for work again the next day.
However, with that being said —

I want to be transparent with my backers and fans.
Despite all the stuff I said up top, and being a crazy work-a-holic — I am still working on Re:Memorize (in the background).

Like, I can't rush this. (I guess the image above also proves I legit draw everything...)
I want to post good stuff, yaknow? But if I don't even have stuff, let alone progress to show, it feels kinda bad...
As I type this dev-log, I'm contemplating if I should release Chapter 9 as a whole - Part 1 and Part 2 together - by the end of the year.
Chapter 9 has already been delayed enough. Heck, this whole visual novel is delayed. But at least it's still being worked on. Even Jeff (my coder is making fun of me, like: When this VN is done, I'll already have kids.)
It won't take that long, I swear! 😣🙏

Side Note |
I’ve noticed a few visual novels/otome jams with titles starting with "Re:" lately, and have been asked if there are any story connections between them in any way.
The answer is no — Re:Memorize is an independent storyline.
Title similarities are merely a coincidence. Thank you! 🫡

TL;DR |
- I'm still working on Re:Memorize, it's just that I've been really busy with work. (Need to pay bills and rent)
- I'm considering releasing Chapter 9 as a whole chapter. (Let me know what you think!)
- Currently working on CG#2
- Actively trying to avoid burnout...

Concluding Thoughts |
I'll post another dev-log early next month, and that's a promise.
Until then, thank you so much for reading, your time, and your patience with Re:Memorize!✨❤️
