This New Year is going off to a great start! Kinda... ( ´ ꒳ ` ;)

The month of January was rough, very rough...

But, the long-awaited Re:Memorize Chapter 5 is just around the corner! Coming soon: (Early?) March 2024!

For the month of February, I only have two CG's left to draw, which should also give me some leeway to start coding before March. When the last two CGs are completed, I'll be making them into teasers, so I won't be previewing them on the next dev-log. They contain heavy spoilers.

I'll also be placing a new track for Irene to play for this chapter. It will be a simple piano tune for the flashback scenes.

Jeffery, my coder, has already finished the majority of the code and is just waiting for me to finish the art so he can start the gallery.

There is also, however... a not-so-unexpected laptop problem.

My laptop is reaching its lifespan. 💻 

It was unavoidable, it is an eight-year-old laptop.

TL: DR || Two weeks ago, my laptop started blue screening and crashing, so I had to take it to the technician. Unfortunately, it was not repairable. 

The motherboard is damaged, the GPU is damaged, and the fans are not working properly anymore. The cause: Overheating.

Why is this important? Well, that is quite simple ─ I can't push my laptop anymore until I get a new PC. Which also means I can't make any new backgrounds in the meantime.

Given there is only one background left for Chapter 5, the unfinished background will be updated in Chapter 6. A placeholder will be used in the beta.

Concluding Thoughts:

To tie up this update, all I can say is I'm super excited to finish Chapter 5. Because again, Prototype Re:Memorize never had a script past Chapter 4. Chapter 5 never existed... until now.
